DARLINGTON, S.C. (AP) - A grandmother and her 9-year-old granddaughter are dead and two people have been charged with murder in Darlington County.
Coroner Todd Hardee tells local media outlets that 52-year-old Denise Couplin and 9-year-old Deziyah Davis were killed Sunday at a home near Darlington.
Deputies said in a news release Monday that 23-year-old Cephas Cowick and his 25-year-old wife Katherine have both been arrested and charged with murder. Authorities did not say why they might have killed the victims. It wasn't known if they had lawyers.
The coroner did not say how the woman and her granddaughter were killed.
