COLUMBIA, S.C. — Next year the Eau Claire High School's 'No Half Steppin' Marching Band' expects to be marching down the streets of the nation's capital.

The school's band was one of only two from the state nominated by Congressman James Clyburn's office to preform.

“The students seem really excited. We have several students who’ve never been out of the state before. As I was telling them that we’re going to be on a national stage, I could tell that the students were excited and a little nervous,” said Taylor Fowler, Eau Claire’s director of bands.

About 50 students are in the band this year.
