Minor injuries reported in Saluda County plane crash, emergency officials say

SALUDA COUNTY, S.C. — Two people declined being taken to the hospital on Sunday following a reported plane crash in Saluda County, officials say.

According to a spokesperson from the Saluda Fire Department, the crash happened on Sunday morning at the Saluda County Airport. A spokesperson for the Saluda County Emergency Management Agency said there were two people on the plane and that there were only minor injuries reported. 

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) said the crash happened around 11:30 a.m. and involved a single-engine Aero Commander 112 airplane. The agency typically investigates aircraft crashes along with the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB). 

No details regarding what caused the crash were available at the time.
