COLUMBIA, S.C. — One person is dead after a crash with a Columbia Police car.
According to reports from the South Carolina Highway Patrol a little after 3pm Monday, a 2023 Toyota crashed with a Columbia Police car.
The Toyota was traveling east on Prescot Road and the Columbia Police car was heading south on US 21?North Main Street and the two cars collided at the intersection of Prescott Road and US 21.
Both drivers were transported to a local hospital.
The person driving the Toyota died at the hospital. The officer suffered a leg injury.
The accident remains under investigation by the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
