Lexington church partners with Harvest Hope for food drive

Volunteers from Northside Baptist Church will be at stores in Lexington and Richland County Saturday, March 16, to collect food for those in need.

LEXINGTON, S.C. — A Lexington church will be hosting "Food From the Heart," at 12 local grocery stores on Saturday, March 16.

Volunteers from Northside Baptist Church will be outside stores collecting items to benefit Harvest Hope Food Bank.  As you go into the store, you will receive a red bag fill up and a list of items the food bank needs.  As you leave the store, you can return the filled up red bag to a volunteer.

"We all know what inflation has done to families and how hard its become, and so there's hunger, there's a need, and we want to meet that need," said Northside Baptist Church's Pastor of Ministry and Missions Steve Allen in an interview on 'News19 This Morning.'  "We are Christ followers and He really set the example."

They will be collecting items at the following stores:

  • Walmart at 7520 Garners Ferry Road, Columbia
  • Walmart at 1780 South Lake Drive, Lexington
  • Walmart at 5556 Sunset Boulevard, Lexington
  • Walmart at 5420 Forest Drive, Columbia
