Juvenile found wounded after Sumter County report of multiple shots fired

While many details are still under investigation, authorities said the shooting occurred near a social gathering.

SUMTER COUNTY, S.C. — An investigation into shots fired ended with the discovery of a wounded juvenile on Saturday night in Sumter County.

According to a spokesperson for the Sumter County Sheriff's Office, deputies were patrolling the area of Manning Road when they heard multiple gunshots.

They soon received reports of a gunshot victim in the area of Manning Road and Vernon Drive and didn't see the victim, authorities said.

However, they soon discovered the juvenile victim who was then rushed to be air-lifted to an area hospital. The victim's condition was not released.

While many details are still under investigation, authorities said the shooting occurred at a social gathering. As of Tuesday afternoon, there are no suspects in custody.
