Search underway for missing woman in Lexington County

The family said she went missing on Friday morning. The Lexington County Sheriff's Department confirmed a missing person report was filed later that day.

LEXINGTON COUNTY, S.C. — A family is asking for the public's help finding a missing woman in Lexington County.

A family member said 37-year-old Azalee Ballard was last seen on Friday between 7 a.m. and 8 a.m. in the Dixiana area of Lexington County in the 3900 block of Charleston Highway. Another family member said Ballard, who also goes by Azalee Rainey, needs medication.

The Lexington County Sheriff's Department confirmed to News19 that a missing person report was filed around 5 p.m. on Friday.

Anyone with information on her location can contact the Lexington County Sheriff's Department at 803-785-8230 or call 911 in an emergency.
