'His last words were, 'Mom I'll be right back'' | Family continues search for missing 20-year-old father

It's been nearly two weeks since Amarioon Moore first went missing.

TEMPLE, Texas — The search continues for a missing 20-year-old father in Temple. Amarioon Moore was last seen on March 30 at a family gathering.

Moore's family says he was picked up by a friend in a Mustang who then dropped him off at another friend's house. However, that friend could not give the family a location.

"What you do in the dark will come to light," Elena Brumet, the mother of Moore's child, said.

Moore is a son, brother and father.

Moore's son, Amarioon Junior, is just a year old. The two have a bond like no other.

"No matter what happens between us, he's still gonna check up on AJ," Brumet said.

AJ is now left with confusion.

"He has those cries sometimes," Brumet added. "But I don't think he really understands the concept of what's going on right now."

Moore's family is also left without answers.

"This is not his routine," Ketchia Thomas, Moore's mother, said. "This is not how he operates. His last words were, 'Mom I'll be right back.'"

"Anybody that knows Amarioon knows he would have called by now," Brumet said. "He would have checked in. He would have found a way."

It's a parent's nightmare turned into reality.

"You can't even explain the feeling of missing your child," Moore's father, Derick Thomas, said.

"It bothers me every day," Ketchia Thomas added. "I get up, I force myself to do things that I'm supposed to do every day, but knowing the fact that I'm not getting a call from Amarioon."

While loved ones search across fields, lakes and woods, they hope the community can help too.

The family has created the hashtag #SeeSomethingSaySomething and encourages those with any information to speak out.

They just want Moore back home.

"At the end of the day, this is what we want," Moore's parents told 6 News. "We just want answers. We won't rest until we find out where he's at."

Megan Price, a spokesperson for the Temple Police Department, sent 6 News the following statement about the case:

Temple PD is actively investigating this case, and I can confirm that we have attempted to ping Amarioon Moore’s cell phone, and we have reached out to the service provider. Temple PD is also currently following up on information regarding the vehicle he was last seen in as well.

This is an active investigation... We also ask that anyone with information please contact the Temple Police Department.
