WEST COLUMBIA, S.C. — There is a good chance the Gray Collegiate Academy softball team has closed the book on Class 2A for War Eagle athletics department.
GCA defeated Marion 8-4 Wednesday night at home to sweep the Class AA state championship series
It marked the second state title for the program in the last three years.
Next season, Gray Collegiate Academy will be competing in Class 4A as part of the South Carolina High School League's reallignment which is in effect for the next two years.
Oceanside Collegiate 6, Mid-Carolina 3
In game two of the 2A state championship baseball series in Prosperity, Oceanside Collegiate Academy won its third consecutive title with a 6-3 win over Mid-Carolina.
