Two Gloves Preparing For 2nd PGA Tour Start Of 2017

For just the second time in 2017, Tommy "Two Gloves" Gainey will tee it up in a PGA Tour event.

Tommy "Two Gloves" Gainey finished second in the Woodcreek Classic after a 72-hole total of 19-under par.

After a solid weekend on the Web.Com Tour, Tommy Gainey will attempt to carry that momentum to the Greenbrier Classic in White Sulphur Springs, West Virginia.

This will mark the second PGA Tour event for "Two Gloves" after missing the cut in April at the RBC Heritage.

Gainey shot a 5-under 67 on Sunday to finish tied for 18th at the Nashville Golf Open, a performance that snapped a streak of nine consecutive missed cuts for Gainey.

The Bishopville native has had recent success at The Greenbrier, in 2013, he shot an 8-under 62 in round one. He made the cut and ended up finishing tied for tied for 41st.

Gainey will be a part of a field that will help celebrate the return of The Greenbrier Classic which was canceled last year after torrential rains caused devastating flooding in that part of West Virginia.

Other Palmetto State golfers in the field include Greer's Bill Haas, former Gamecock and Beaufort native Mark Anderson, Dean and Deluca Invitational winner and Aiken native Kevin Kisner and former Clemson All-American Ben Martin who finished tied for fifth in the Quicken Loans Invitational. Another former Clemson standout who has been spending time of late on the Web.com Tour is Jonathan Byrd. The Spring Valley graduate is also in the field for The Greenbrier Classic.
