The USC women's golf team was clearly playing well entering the SEC Championship after last week's win in the Liz Murphey Collegiate Classic in Athens.

That stellar play continued in Hoover at the Greystone Golf and Country Club as the Gamecocks reached the SEC Championship match, falling to Ole Miss after a hard-fought battle between USC's Lois Kaye Go and the Rebels' Macy Somoskey.

It took four playoff holes to decide the match, with the players trading three pars before Go bogeyed 18 and Somoskey pared the 22nd hole to win the team title. This marked the second straight year USC has finished second in the SEC Championship.

Up next for the Gamecocks, the NCAA Regionals May 6-8. The team will learn its fate during the NCAA Division Women's Golf Selection Show, which will air on Golf Channel on Wed., April 24, at 5:30 p.m. ET. This year's regional sites are hosted by Washington, Michigan State, Oklahoma and Auburn.
