Victim and vehicle identified in fatal hit-and-run in Cayce, driver sought

Pedestrian crossing Frink Street Thursday evening hit by sedan; suspect sought

CAYCE, S.C. — Cayce Police are investigating a fatal hit-and-run that occurred Thursday evening on Frink Street.

According to reports, around 6:30 p.m. November 11, man was walking along the 1200 block of Frink Street in Cayce when witnesses say a sedan struck the man and fled the scene. The vehicle was reportedly headed toward the Charleston Highway.

Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher identified the pedestrian as John Wesley Butler, 64, of Cayce.

Investigators at the Cayce Police Department are actively investigating the incident -- interviewing witnesses, reviewing surveillance footage and conducting accident reconstruction.

The sedan suspected in the hit-and-run might have damage to the front end/center of the hood and undercarriage.
