Swansea area crash victim identified by coroner; authorities investigating

The crash happened around noon on Wednesday, authorities said.

LEXINGTON COUNTY, S.C. — The Lexington County Coroner's Office has released the name of a woman who died in a Wednesday morning crash near Swansea.

Coroner Margaret Fisher said the crash happened just before noon in the 1100 block of Whetstone Road. Fisher said a vehicle was traveling west on the road when it went off the left side and hit a tree. The victim, 31-year-old Riccy Noelia Menocal Rosales of Barnwell, died at the scene. Fisher said she wasn't wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.

The Lexington County Coroner's Office and the South Carolina Highway Patrol are investigating the crash.
