Motorcyclist killed in Calhoun County crash on I-26 identified; SCHP investigating

Authorities said the motorcycle left the road and overturned. The victim died at the scene, troopers said.

CALHOUN COUNTY, S.C. — Authorities have released the name of a motorcyclist who died in a Thursday afternoon crash in Calhoun County.

Master Trooper William Bennett with the South Carolina Highway Patrol said the crash happened around 3:15 p.m. on I-26 near mile marker 136 west of St. Matthews.

Bennett said a Harley Davidson motorcycle was heading east on I-26 when it went off the right side of the road and overturned. The rider, identified by the Calhoun County Coroner's Office as 64-year-old Brent Blake of West Virginia, died at the scene from injuries sustained in the crash.
