LEXINGTON COUNTY, S.C. — The opening date for the 2023 Lake Murray beach and recreation area has been set.
Dominion Energy, which operates the site, says gates will open on the Lexington side of the dam at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 5 and remain open through Labor Day, September 4. Here are some things you need to know about the Lexington side beach and recreation area:
- open Monday-Friday 11 a.m.-8 p.m.; open Saturday and Sunday 10 a.m.-8 p.m.
- parking fees $5 for all vehicles; season passes can be purchased for $50 per vehicle
- no lifeguards on duty, swim at your own risk
- no pets allowed
- no alcohol allowed
The Irmo side of the dam features the boat launch area and
- open 24 hours a day, all year-round
- no swimming on the Irmo side
- pets must be on a leash
- no alcohol allowed
