Correction: The victim came to a Gadwell Court home for help, but no part of the initial incident occurred at that home, according to a Richland County Sheriff's Department report.

BLYTHEWOOD, S.C. -- Richland County Sheriff's Department (RCSD) says one person was injured and another arrested in connection to a drug deal gone bad Saturday night in Blythewood.

According to an incident report from the department, around 8 p.m. Saturday, deputies were called to a home on Gadwell Court. The report said a homeowner there told them a man came to his house to ask for help after being shot, and he opened his home and let him come inside to get aid.

When officers got there, they interviewed the shooting victim, who told them he and a friend tried to buy some marijuana from another man, known as "Mr. King," at another location. The friend ran off, however, and suddenly he heard a gunshot and felt a sting in his neck, and took off running.

The shooting victim directed officers to the home where he said Mr. King might be. The officer said when they got there, they asked everyone inside the home to come outside. Officers said they noticed a bullet hole in an upstairs window and searched the home to make sure "Mr. King" was not inside. They reported they didn't find King but did see a pistol and some drugs on a bed.

Officers later learned from their investigation that the shooting and drug deal actually took place on Sand Oak Court. Deputies went to a home at that location and found the suspect they were looking for, who they identified as 20-year-old King Williams. Williams was taken to sheriff's department headquarters for questioning and will be facing drug and firearm charges relating to this incident, according to deputies.
