50 Vehicles Stolen from, Tampered with in Lexington in One Night

The incidents all happened Saturday night into Sunday morning in several neighborhoods in the area.

Lexington, SC (WLTX) - Lexington police are looking for the persons who tampered with or stole from more than 50 vehicles in one night, taking everything from guns to credit cards and even pills.

The incidents all happened Saturday night into Sunday morning in several neighborhoods in the area. The neighborhoods involved included Coventry, Mallard Lakes, Gibson Forest East, Willowbrook, Westbrook, and Marin's Grove.

Items taken include handguns, a rifle, sunglasses, purses, wallets, prescription pills, cell phones, and credit cards, cell phones, and credit cards.

Here's the thing: in each case, officers say the vehicles were left unlocked.

Detectives are trying to identify two males subject and the group there were with. The two were seen on surveillance video, which is attached to this article. In the meantime, officers say they will increase patrols in neighborhoods, and they're urging everyone to remove items of value from their cars and lock their vehicles at night.
