FLORENCE, S.C. — A mother is being charged with unlawful neglect after deputies say she left her infant in a hot car.

According to multiple media outlets, a call went out at 5:48 p.m. on Tuesday about a baby girl inside a car outside of a Walmart. The temperature at the time was 99 degrees with a heat index of 102 degrees.

A special operations deputy was nearby and responded within two minutes.
