Disagreement leads to deadly shooting outside Sumter bar

The incident happened outside Brewers Bar and Grill on East Wesmark Boulevard late Saturday night.

SUMTER, S.C. — Authorities say a man was shot and killed outside a Sumter bar following an apparent disagreement between him and the shooter.

Sumter Police officers were called to East Wesmark Boulevard around 11:30 p.m. where they found 26-year-old Rayquan Kentrell Dean of Pinewood shot outside Brewer's Bar and Grill. Police said Dean was already dead.

Shortly after the shooting, police said a vehicle was seen speeding away from the scene in the parking lot. Police were able to stop the driver and, after identifying him as the shooter, took 31-year-old Antwaun A. June into custody.

June has since been charged with murder, possession of a weapon during a violent crime, unlawfully carrying a firearm, and failure to stop for blue lights.

Witnesses said that June and Dean were involved in an "ongoing dispute" that turned into a fight. The investigation is still underway.
