RICHLAND COUNTY, S.C. — The Richland County Sheriff's Department (RCSD) is asking the public for assistance in locating a person involved in a domestic violence incident who they believe to be armed and dangerous.

Jason Tarrell Boyles is wanted for domestic violence, harassment, and attempted murder in connection with an incident that occurred on April 3, 2024.

According to a RCSD incident report, deputies were called to a residence on Claudia Drive in northeast Richland County after a female victim reported an assault by the father of her children. The victim identified Boyles as her attacker and that she had been receiving threatening text messages from Boyles. She said Boyles had been waiting for her when she arrived at her home and attacked her while she was still seated in her vehicle, in view of her children.

The report states that her children helped get their mother free of their father and then Boyles left the scene on foot.

The female victim had been struck numerous times in the face with a closed fist and bitten on her left ear, according to the report.

Boyles had allegedly recently been incarcerated for a similar incident and was supposed to have been wearing an ankle monitor, but he had cut it off.

If you have seen Boyles or know of his whereabouts, you are asked to contact RCSD at 803-576-3000 or CrimeStoppers at 888-CRIME-SC or the P3Tip app.
