Sumter, SC (WLTX) - Sumter County deputies say a man shot his wife three times before killing himself.
The victim told deputies that she and her husband, Tony Odell Odom, had been arguing and he had been drinking and was “not himself.”
The wife said Odom went to a bedroom of their Sumter County home about 3:45 a.m., and returned carrying a pistol. She said he shot her three times. As she ran she heard a fourth shot but didn’t know if he was still shooting at her or not, according to deputies.
Deputies arrived and discovered the body of Tony Odom on the front porch of the home already deceased. They believe he shot himself.
The wife was airlifted to Palmetto Health Richland for her injuries. She is reportedly in serious but stable condition.
