COLUMBIA, S.C. — The Dutch Fork High School student is charged with attempt to commit sexual conduct with a minor 3rd degree and kidnapping, according to the Richland County Sheriff's Department.
Deputies say the 14-year-old male student attempted to commit a criminal sexual act against a 15-year-old male during school hours on Tuesday at Dutch Fork High School. The victim reported the assault to his parents, who notified school administrators, who then reported it to the school resource officer.
The 14-year-old was taken into custody Wednesday evening.
The incident comes one week after a student at Ridge View High School was sexually assaulted and another was physically assaulted by their classmates after school on campus.
