Columbia, SC (WLTX) — A person of interest has been located in the shooting near Pelion that has left one person dead and two injured, one seriously, according to Lexington County deputies after a shooting Monday evening.
Deputies believe that this is an isolated incident.
The shooting occurred in the 300 block of Sandspur Road near Pelion Park road just after 5:30 pm, investigators say.
The Lexington County coroner has identified the victim as 38-year old Aaron Matthew Peterson. Officials say he was shot several times in the upper body and died at the scene.
Two others were taken to the hospital. One is in serious condition, while the other had non-life-threatening injuries.
