COLUMBIA, S.C. — The Richland County Election Commission held a regularly scheduled meeting on Thursday night, finalizing their plans ahead of the Democratic Presidential Primary.
The Presidential Preference Primary takes place on February 29, 2020.
The election commission anticipates high voter turnout, as well as a high volume of absentee voters.
"The absentee process is going to be humongous," says Terry Graham, Sr., interim executive director. "I think a lot of people are going to show interest and vote absentee. They are going to make sure their vote is counted for, since they may not be in the area on February 29th."
The voter registration deadline is January 30, 2020.
