Hammond wins a 2nd consecutive SCISA state championship

For the second consecutive season, the Hammond Skyhawks rolled through a season undefeated.

The first play from scrimmage set the tone for Hammond.

A 72-yard touchdown pass from Jackson Muschamp to Andre Wilson gave Hammond an early home run as the Skyhawks defeated First Baptist 40-7 to win their second consecutive SCISA state championship and extend their winning streak to 25 games after another undefeated season.

Jordan Burch did it all for Hammond, rushing for 110 yards with three touchdowns on the ground. He also had a two-yard touchdown pass to Wilson in the first half to give Hammond a 26-0 halftime lead.

Hammond's second half scores came on Burch's third touchdown on the ground and a Muschamp six-yard run.

The win gives Hammond its 16th overall state title in football and 10th for head coach Erik Kimrey who has wrapped up his 15th season as head coach..
