While Gwinnett County Police officers were working on a multiple-vehicle wreck in the northbound lanes of Peachtree Parkway near the Chattahoochee River early Sunday morning, a suspected drunk driver drove into a police car parked at the scene.
Officials said one officer was taken to a local hospital with minor injuries as a result.
Police said there were injuries in the original wreck, but did not provide additional details.
Investigators worked to sort things out and were seen by an 11Alive News photojournalist giving the suspected drunk driver a field sobriety test.
No additional injuries were reported.
