Two dead, one hurt in Fairfield County crash on Saturday night; SCHP investigating

The crash happened just before 11 p.m. and involved two vehicles.

FAIRFIELD COUNTY, S.C. — A two-vehicle crash in Fairfield County ended with two deaths and a hospitalization, authorities say.

According to Lance Corporal Nick Pye with the South Carolina Highway Patrol, the crash happened just before 11 p.m. at U.S. 321 and U.S. 321 Business. Pye said a 2011 Nissan sedan was heading west in the eastbound lanes of U.S. 321 Business when it was involved in a collision with a 2020 Toyota sedan heading north on U.S. 321.

Investigators said the driver and passenger of the Nissan died. The driver of the Toyota was taken to an area hospital for treatment of unspecified injuries.

The Fairfield County Coroner's Office hasn't yet released the names of the victims in the crash. The South Carolina Highway Patrol is still investigating the crash.
