Fairfield County deputies charge man with attempted murder in gas station shooting

Authorities said they don't believe this was a random act.

FAIRFIELD COUNTY, S.C. — The Fairfield County Sheriff's Office has charged a man with attempted murder following a shooting that happened on Wednesday.

According to a spokesperson for the sheriff's office, the shooting happened at the POPS Mart gas station at the intersection of U.S. Highway 21 South and Coleman Highway near Ridgeway. Investigators have since arrested 20-year-old Keshawn Keanu Miller on charges of attempted murder, possession of a weapon during a violent crime and malicious injury to personal property.

Authorities haven't released details regarding the shooting but said investigators don't believe this was a random act. The sheriff's office urged anyone with information to contact the Fairfield County Sheriff's Office at 803-635-4141.
