RIDGE SPRING, S.C. — Residents of Ridge Spring should take extra precautions before using their water following a pipe break that officials confirmed on Saturday afternoon.

According to a town statement, residents should boil their water before using it for cooking or drinking for the next 48 hours due to a main break.

The advisory refers to the town as a whole but also mentions multiple roads, including Anderson Avenue, Hazzard Circle, Hickson Street, Johnson Street, Merritt Avenue, M.L. King Avenue, Quattlebaum Avenue, Pecan Groove Road, Ridge Hill Drive, Spring Street, and Williams Street.

Boil water advisories typically last until the break is repaired and a test by the municipality shows it is safe to drink.
