LEXINGTON, S.C. — One man is dead after a tractor-trailer and a tow truck collided in Pelion Tuesday afternoon.
According to the Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher, Mr. Walker Elliott Wilkins, 63 of Augusta, Georgia was traveling westbound on Fairfield road when he struck a tow truck attempting to turn westbound on Fairfield road from Bub Shumpert Road.
Wilkins was wearing his seatbelt at the time of the accident but was pronounced dead at the scene from injuries.
The driver of the tow truck was transported to an area hospital with serious injuries.
No update on his condition.
The South Carolina Highway Patrol is continuing to investigate the accident.
