SCDOT closes portion of Arrowwood Road, proposes detour to Colonial Life Boulevard.

COLUMBIA, S.C. — South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT) announced it will close a portion of Arrowwood Road in Richland County that is adjacent to the Carolina Crossroads Project.

The closure will begin 7 a.m. Monday, Jan. 9, and will continue until 7 a.m. Jan. 30.

The affected area along Arrowwood Road runs from the intersection of Lawand Drive to the intersection of Gracern Road. During the closure, traffic will be encouraged to take an alternative route along Bush River Road and Colonial Life Boulevard.

The partial closure pf Arrowwood Road will allow contractors to perform utility work and bridge construction related to the Carolina Crossroads Phase 1 project in Richland and Lexington counties.

The project includes improvements to the exit ramp to US 378 from I-26 eastbound and associated interstate widening in Lexington County and a full access interchange at Colonial Life Boulevard at I-126 in Richland County. The purpose of this project is to provide traffic access to and from I-26 and I-126 to Colonial Life Blvd., allowing for closure of the existing on and off ramps that access I-26 from Bush River Road.

Visit the project webpage scdotcarolinacrossroads.com for other project information and updates. The public may also contact the Project Hotline at 800-601-8715.
