One dead, two injured in Clarendon County crash on U.S. Highway 301

The investigation is being conducted by the Clarendon County Coroner's Office and the South Carolina Highway Patrol.

CLARENDON COUNTY, S.C. — A two-vehicle crash in Clarendon County on Wednesday has claimed one life and sent two drivers to the hospital, officials say.

Corporal Tyler Tidwell with the South Carolina Highway Patrol said the crash happened just before noon on Wednesday in the area of U.S. Highway 301 and Alderman Camp Road.

Tidwell said that a 2019 Ford was heading south on Alderman Camp Road as a 2014 Kenworth tractor-trailer was heading north on U.S. Highway 301. The two vehicles collided where the roads intersect.

The resulting crash sent both drivers and a passenger in the Ford to the hospital. However, the passenger of the Ford later died.

The Clarendon County Coroner's Office has not yet released the name of the victim in Wednesday's crash. That office and the South Carolina Highway Patrol are investigating the crash.
