COLUMBIA, S.C. — Saturday morning started off foggy and mild across the Midlands with low temperatures in the 60s. This warm and humid air mass will stick with us for most of the weekend along with some unsettled weather.

Saturday afternoon and evening a few showers or storms are possible, especially areas north of I-20, as a warm front lifts north through the region. A majority of the Midlands are under a marginal risk for severe weather, which is a one out of five on the severe weather risk scale.

A few isolated strong to severe storms are possible, with damaging winds and large hail the primary concern.

A few showers and storms are possible overnight, before drying out for the start of Sunday.

Sunday morning will be very warm with lows in the upper 60s. The day will be breezy and mostly cloudy ahead of an approaching cold front. The front will bring showers and storms as it passes through in the afternoon and early evening. \

There is a better chance for strong to severe storms with this line. Areas north of I-20 are under a slight risk for severe weather on Sunday, while the rest of the region is under a marginal risk. The threats are the same as Saturday with damaging winds and large hail the biggest risk. There could be a brief, spin-up tornado though that risk is fairly low.

Sunday night conditions will improve and skies will clear. High pressure moves in for Monday and temperatures will be much more seasonable with highs in the upper 60s under mostly sunny skies.

More unsettled weather moves in Tuesday through early Thursday as we track another system moving through. Temperatures will remain near to below normal through the middle and end of the week.

Easter weekend looks to also be cooler than normal for much of the southern United States.
